Appendix - Information for Black and White Macintoshes
ShareDraw is a full color drawing application that fully supports black and white only machines such as the Mac Plus, the Mac SE, and the Mac Classic.
Objects have colors even when ShareDraw is running on a black and white machine. The color does not display, but is still available for printing and exporting. For these machines only 8 colors are available for printing and exporting: white, black, red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow.
The Color palette is limited to a text display of these eight colors. This is also true for the colors in the Type dialog and the Textures dialog.
When Show Color Readout is turned on in the Preferences dialog, a readout of text and object color mapped to the closest of the 8 original QuickDraw colors will be displayed when the Arrow pointer is over objects. This is extremely useful when working with color on Black and White machines.
The display format shows the black and white pixel colors of the pen texture. The fill texture colors are shown in brackets. An object with a Show Color Readout of Bk,Wt[Mg,Yw], has a black and white pen texture and a magenta and yellow fill.
